Video: Religious indoctrination is a poison.

Just recorded myself with a few thoughts on religious indoctrination, and the persistent effects it can have on you later in life.

I found your video very interesting. I too am an ex-fundamentalist Christian and could empathize with the thoughts you share. After wrestling with my belief system and whether God existed for over a decade, I began a serious study of the Bible. I found a completely different God from the traditional orthodox church and I can assure you that He isn't the God we were taught in church. They twisted God's word to instill fear and control us and have defamed His glorious name through the false doctrines of hell. BUT one day his glorious plan will be revealed for all to see and He will be All in All. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Every time I see a defense of God as something not inherently meant to instill fear or obedience, I can't help but wonder what Bible the person read. Fully reading the Bible was actually one of the last things I did before I could no longer call myself a Christian, and it was through that reading that I learned that the touchy, feely, happy God I'd been raised with did not at all resemble the actual God of the Bible. There isn't much about that God that I'd call glorious; to me, he comes off as tribalistic, shallow, and jealous.

In any case, thanks for the well-wishes :) Hope you have a great day as well.
